ROBERT RABE

Robert Rabe is an accomplished litigator, practiced both in the United States as an attorney and England as a Barrister. Mr. Rabe is the firm’s writs and appeals specialist. He has represented individual officers through the writ process at the trial court level in Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, and other counties throughout California. He has also represented individual officers at the appellate level – often obtaining remarkable results. For example, in one matter he settled a civil case on terms favorable to the officer, convinced the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn the officer’s felony conviction and dismiss the case, and then had the agency agree to reverse the officer’s termination and reimburse him for years of back-pay and benefits. Mr. Rabe has prepared “amicus” briefs for many of our police association clients, representing their interests in cases before the California Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit. And, for years, Mr. Rabe has written the majority of the firm’s training bulletins.

He also worked as Barrister for over ten years in London, England, working from chambers for the Crown Prosecution Service and handled serious criminal matters. He was appointed to the Attorney General’s Panel of Prosecution Advocates and prosecuted on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (benefit fraud) and HM Revenue & Customs (importation of drugs). During his time in London, he was the Barrister advocate in over 50 jury trials.

As an associate at a small boutique firm in Glendale, California, specializing in Elder and Special Needs law, he developed innovative estate planning methods to protect the assets of those individuals with long-term care issues, and He lectured throughout Southern California on estate planning for long-term care.

During his time practicing in Elder and Special Needs law, he was appointed in over 50 cases by the California Court of Appeal to represent indigent defendants on appeal in serious criminal matters.

Robert Rabe has also worked as a prosecutor representing the People of the State of California in the prosecution of criminal offenses from inception to appellate level. He prosecuted a full range of matters, including murder cases, and was the attorney of record in over 100 jury trials.
