Attorney Maurice Sinsley was admitted to the California Bar, and joined the firm after a 30-year career in the fire service. Before attending law school, he served as a firefighter/paramedic for 11-years before promoting to the rank of Captain. During his 11-years as a Captain, he was assigned to recruit firefighter training as a drill instructor from 1994 to 1997. He was also assigned to a Truck Company where he trained and mentored probationary Firefighters, Paramedics, Engineers and Captains. As a senior Captain, he specialized in employee development and handled numerous employee performance and misconduct situations.

After promoting to Battalion Chief, Maurice Sinsley served as the Fire Prevention Liaison to the Port of Long Beach, as a Strike Team Leader, and as a USAR Task Force Leader for California Regional Task Force-3. During his 8-year career as a Battalion Chief, he worked to develop the department’s Professional Standards Program, conducted numerous employee investigations in compliance with the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights Act, and investigated and prosecuted numerous fire and life safety complaints against property owners. He also spent 2 years as the SWAT-Paramedic Program Coordinator training qualified firefighter/paramedics to serve with the Long Beach Police Department Swat Team.  

After completing law school, Maurice Sinsley joined the Orange County Human Resource Services Department where he served for two years as an Employee and Labor Relations Analyst. During his service with the County of Orange, he conducted numerous misconduct, fraud, and workplace harassment investigations for OC Parks, Public Libraries, Animal Care and the Orange County Housing Authority. As an investigator, he worked with department managers, supervisors, employees and labor representatives to complete thorough investigations within scope and provide objective, balanced investigative reports that stand up to legal scrutiny. As an Attorney Investigator, he is able to combine his legal expertise with his extensive public safety experience to not only determine relevant facts

He is a member of the LA County Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, Federal Bar Ass

Maurice is a panel attorney for the Fraternal Order of Police and Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs. He responds to critical incidents involving officer-involved shootings and in-custody deaths, and represents officers in Shooting Review Boards.
